In the early early morning, just before the break of day, the Rockin' Heart Ranchito fell into an awed hush at the first cries of Amos Henry Geist as he was delivered into this world.
Then all hell broke loose.
That's what's known in this media business as "a dramatization". Amos was born at 5:30am here at the Ranchito, and things did get interesting for Laura in the minutes that followed. But Laura's fine now. As for Amos, he showed up 7lbs, 13oz of kicking and squalling, and he's been doing what newborns do ever since. Which is to say, he's beautiful, as you can see for yourself.
Laura and Dale are happy that Amos has finally brought parity to the Ranchito, where the dogs, goats, and horses, at three each, have long outnumbered the humans. "We feel a lot more confident now going into the winter basketball tournament," said Laura.
The new parents extend their sincerest thanks to Claudette Coughenour, the midwife for the birth, her assistant Susanna Napierala, and our great friend Janna Cordeiro, for their invaluable help delivering Amos into this world.
